How does Neurofeedback work?

Neurofeedback training is a relaxing, pleasant approach to anxiety-free living. First, we do a brain map, using a technology known as a quantitative electroencephalogram—QEEG. This is a painless process, and it takes about twenty minutes.

First used in 1924, this is a time-tested method of measuring brainwave balance. Once done, the results will allow Tiffany, a certified Neurofeedback provider, to design a personalized Neurofeedback program for you.

A typical session of Neurofeedback training lasts 30 minutes. During the training, you will be relaxed, sitting in a comfortable chair, watching a movie or video of your own choosing. While you relax, we will be measuring your brainwave activity using two small sensors placed lightly on your scalp. These sensors provide real-time data on how your brain is working while you watch the video.

If your Beta energy goes too high, like when you are feeling anxious, the sensors cause the movie to dim and the sound to decrease. Over time, these repeated feedback signals help to train your brain to think in a more balanced, calmer manner. The result – no more anxiety or panic attacks!
