Neurofeedback is NOT shock therapy

I get this question a lot and the answer is no!

Absolutely NOT! Electroconvulsive Therapy and Neurofeedback are two VERY different forms of therapy. During Neurofeedback, nothing is done to the client and nothing is put into the client. When a person's brain is more regulated, the client receives positive reinforcement in the form of a positive sound in their ear and the monitor being watched becomes bright encouraging the brain to stay more regulated and therefore decreasing negative symptoms. Neurofeedback is a form of learning and training teaches the brain to function better.
