How does Neurofeedback end ADD and ADHD symptoms?

One of the biggest challenges for those with ADD and ADHD is a loss of focus and concentration. This, combined with memory issues, can lead to significant cognitive and behavioral symptoms.

These symptoms are directly related to imbalances in Theta and Beta brainwaves. For example, too many Beta waves can lead to hyperactivity in children, or anxiety in adults. Excessive Theys waves can create the loss of concentration typically found in ADD patients.

Neurofeedback training is designed to help the brain balance these brainwaves, which in turn, decreases the symptoms, or in many cases, can eliminate them entirely.

Neurofeedback training is a relaxing, pleasant activity

To begin, we scan the brainwave activity using a brain map. This non-invasive procedure allows us to measure brainwaves in real time. Once collected, this data is then analyzed to help create a personalized training protocol for you.

The actual training sessions last 30 minutes and are relaxing for both children and adults.

All you have to do is sit back and watch a movie or a video of your own choice. While you enjoy the video, our computer monitors the brainwave activity using two small sensors placed lightly on your scalp.

This real-time information is used to adjust the audio and visual components of the video, in response to how your brain is working. Over time, the continuous adjustments help train your brain to develop new, more efficient neural connections.

This is a natural learning process called “operant conditioning”. The result of these new, healthier neural connections?  – an end to the ADD and ADHD symptoms!

Ongoing positive results.

These new neural connections are permanent. Remember when you learned first learned how to swim, or ride a bike? Initially, you didn`t know how to do it. Over time, with practice and repetition, you soon learned how to do it correctly. Although your muscles may change, the neural pathways for those activities remain yours for the keeping. Review the research here.

These new neural connections allow your brain to function better – for the long term.
